Alcoholic Poetry
Who am I? :: The alcoholc within.
Alcoholic Poetry. The name may say enough, but then again, it may not. This goes back to the honesty discussed on 09-22-05. I am a sober alcoholic. What this means is that a great deal of my literary work deals with, or was written, under the influence. Some of these are harsh, while others are straight-up outlandish. But since they are a large piece of who I once was, here they are.

2 Relapse
Anyone who has ever spent any time addicted to something, be it a substance or a thing, which is unhealthy knows that you often tell yourself "Not yet." That you try controlling things through the use of limits and such forth. This piece was originally composed in the heyday of my drinking days and is clearly a record of one such experience in time.

3 Impotence
Poetry does strange things to the soul, alcohol stranger things still. When combined the two can often have disastrous, albeit fascinating, results. This piece is the product of one such drunken afternoon. No great meanings, just an example of the insanity booze can create if allowed.

4 Smitty
This poem is a series of observations of a town drunk from a place I once lived. But for a twist of fate along the way, it would not have taken much to end up like the man in the piece myself.
