The Images - About

Once, when I was much younger, a friend of my Mother's taught me how to paint, and how to take photographs. As my dystonia progressed over the years my ability to hold, let alone manipulate, a paint brush became diminished. My alcoholic lifestyle led me away from photography. In time, with the use of computers & digital cameras Both of these arts have returned to my life. The Photographic Galleries contain collections of snippet of my life as the camera has captured them. While most of these were taken by, some are of, me. The Art Galleries holds my return to the world of painted images. No longer do I work with brush & canvas; these images are all mathematically generated computer images.

The term imagery is used in psychology and everyday discussion to refer to mental images, i.e., the making or recreation of an experience in the mind — auditory, visual, tactile, olfactory, gustatory, kinesthetic. This is a cognitive process employed by most, if not all, humans.

Imagery can refer to any of the five senses: smell, touch, taste, hearing, and, in the case of this section of The Lair, sight. This section is divided into two primary categories; Photography, & Computer Generated Imagery or art.

In the Photography section you will find two kinds of photographs; images which I have shot documenting my life and the surroundings and events at that time, and images shot of myself documenting where I was at certain points of ,y life.

In the CGI Galleries you will find a variety of Computer Generated Imagery or art created by myself with on of several programs. Primarily, but not exclusively, these include Poser & Terragen. The art ranges from a collection of landscapes; fantastic & realistic; made entirely with the Terragen Software to images made with Poser covering attempts at self-portraits to mythical creatures of desire - or disgust.
